RP TV was established in 2010 by journalist/producer, Raphael Pires and freelance writer, Jess Woods. Working together on the pilot series of Braussieleiro TV, the brainchild of Pires, the two discovered common ground within the collaborative process and the Braussieleiro TV program became a project of combined passion, with Pires as Reporter/Executive Producer and Woods taking on the role of Executive Producer also. As the first of its kind in Australia, Braussieleiro TV has been going from strength to strength since its inception, quickly gaining a reputation and an international online audience. Combining informative reportage and entertainment value, RP TV aims at finding the most successful formats in which to target its audience in the most effective way possible. RP TV are currently in production on the next series of Braussieleiro TV and in the development stages of several other projects.
Raphael Pires was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Accompanying his media-industry father, Pires would spend his childhood exploring production studios and observing Television from behind-the-scenes. During this time he developed a keen interest in watching Television journalists, for what interested him was the combination of research, writing, interviewing and presenting involved within the single role of a Reporter. Watching these professionals in action Pires was greatly inspired and made the decision to pursue his passion for media as a future career. After studying Journalism and working for some years at SBT Television in Brazil, Pires made the decision in 2007 to spread his wings and pursue new challenges, building upon his life experience and professional knowledge. He has since worked as a Reporter for both the Brazilian Voice Newspaper and WebTV brcz.com in New York, before moving to Sydney, Australia where he is now based.
